Sunday, November 3, 2019, scores of veterans, their family members, and thousands of their supporters gathered to say thank you to the brave men and women who have served this nation in all branches of military service for the annual Philadelphia Veteran’s Parade. It was a clear and sunny day, as the streets of downtown Philadelphia were lined with crowds of people proudly waving their American flags. The crowd was full of excitement as they waited for the parade to commence.

Following the final notes of the National Anthem, a military flyover took place with skydivers conducting a dramatic and coordinated jump landing on Independence Mall next to the Liberty Bell. Attached to one of the paratroopers was a Hands from the Heart flag, featuring our logo and name, proudly waving in the wind. Visit us on InstagramTwitter, or Facebook to see the jump! Hands From The Heart is a VA approved provider of home care services to homebound veterans and their surviving spouses

The parade route began at Juniper and Market Streets with a brigade of over 300 motorcyclists and continued heading east on Market Street, concluding at North 5th Street where the Veterans Festival took place. The Festival was a fun-filled opportunity for attendees to learn about veteran’s services including job placement/recruitment, healthcare, educational opportunities, and financial assistance.

The mission of the Philadelphia Veterans Parade and Festival is to honor all who have served regardless of where or when they served. “The parade isn’t just about one day a year, it’s about helping veterans and raising awareness of issues our veterans face 365 days of the year,” said Anthony Murphy, President of Philadelphia Veterans Parade.
